Today I realized how proud you can feel of something you completed - but didn't feel like doing it in the first place. Funny how that happens, especially when most people just want to be entertained and do the things they enjoy. I am more convinced each day that pleasure can be one's greatest addiction. THE SOURCE
All I really feel like is going outside and having a cigarette. How sad that is. You know why? Cause i realized that smoking for me sometimes is a way of escaping reality (my so-called active life) and what a temporary fix it is, using anything to escape for a moment. You see - I know that escaping isn't the answer, but facing it is. Only by facing something can we truly be set free from it.
I always tried and mostly managed it on my own. But now i've come to the realization (through experience) that it just won't be enough anymore. See - I think people change when they are forced to... I mean, if everything is going well why would you re-evaluate yourself? You wouldn't..
I know that God allowed certain things in my life to happen in order to draw me back to Him. It’s funny how you don't understand something just after you’ve done it or when you’re going through it, but as you look back…
Like where I am now, God knows I don't understand, but that’s not what I focus on… "it too will pass"... Jesus has set me free from the life of sin and death and there's no way I'm going back! You see, when a tree gets ripped from the ground it dies, when a fish gets taken out of the water it dies, when you are removed from your source you die... Thats why when people remove themselves from God, (their Creator who loves them in whom we have our potential), they die… perhaps not physically immediately, but in so many other ways.
Like a friend of mine once said... "sometimes the truth sucks, but it does set you free..."
